Sri Vikhanasa Maharshi
श्री विखनस महा गुरवे नमः | ॐ वैखानस मुनि श्रेष्ठ पूजिताय श्री वेङ्कटेशाय नमः ||
శ్రీ విఖనస మహా గురవే నమః | ఓం వైఖానస ముని శ్రేష్ఠ పూజి తాయ శ్రీ వేంకటేశాయ నమః ||
श्री लक्ष्मी वल्लभारंभां विखनो मुनि मध्यमाम् | अस्मदाचार्य पर्यंतां वन्दे गुरु परंपराम् ||
శ్రీ లక్ష్మీ వల్లభారంభాం విఖనో ముని మధ్యమామ్ | అస్మదాచార్య పర్యంతాం వన్దే గురు పరంపరామ్ ||
नारायणः पिता यस्य माता चापि हरिप्रिया | भ्रुग्वादि मुनयः शिष्या तस्मै श्री विखनसे नमः ||
నారాయణః పితా యస్య మాతా చాపి హరిప్రియా | భ్రుగ్వాది మునయః శిష్యా తస్మై శ్రీ విఖనసే నమః ||
Sage Sri Vikhanasa Maharshi was created from the mind (Maanaseeka Udbhava) of Sriman NarayaNa, when many sages were reluctant to engage in the performance of AarAdhanam for Him in bhU lOkam because they were unsure of doing the right kind of ArAdhanam.
Sriman NarAyaNa through viSEsha khananam (digging) created a new sage, named him VikhAnasa and empowered him to perform ArAdhanams for Him in His Vibhava and archAvatArams through upadEsams on Veda, VedAntams and initiation into Gayatri/Saavitri mantrams.
Lord Vishnu himself revealed to Vikhanasa Maharshi (Vishnu Manasa Putra) a treatise consisting of a thousand crore of verses – sahasra kotibhi slokaihi sankhyatam bahu vistaram ( DasaVidhaHetuNirupanam ). That sastra (treatise which commands and protects) is Bhagavatsastra (a divine treatise) aka Vaikhanasa Bhagavat Sastram or Vaikhanasam.

నిత్యం గృహే దేవాయతనే వా భక్త్యా భగవన్తం నారాయణ మర్చయేత్ తద్విష్ణో: పరమం పదం గచ్ఛతీతి విజ్ఞ్యాయతే ~ వైఖానస కల్పసూత్రం
नित्यं गृहे देवायतने वा भक्त्या भगवन्तं नारायण मर्चयेत् तद्विष्णो: परमं पदं गच्छतीति विज्ञ्यायते ~ वैखानस कल्पसूत्रं
